Fossils {accessory trends}

While I was at the show in Atlanta I saw the most beautiful fossils everywhere and most were already sold.  Most of the showrooms used them in display or as the main accessories on their furnishings.  I fell in love!  I was very excited to pick up a few pieces this past week, which I am even more excited to share with you.

I am sorry this photo is not better, these pieces were amazing!

Each of the the architectural fragments had bits of stone attached to them.

Loved this too!

 I picked up Smokey Quartz and Amethyst pieces, these are for sale in our flea market section of the shop.

Stop by the shop to see what we have been adding, I will be putting more on in the coming days.

Emporium Home {Atlanta show favorites}

While I was in Atlanta I was very excited to see some great new lines, new to me and some new to all.  Emporium Home was one of my favorites.  That table is to.die.for.  I love love it.  The dark top with the beautiful metal base is just beautiful, this photo does not do it justice!  I was so excited to meet Ashley the company's owner and designer.  She was super sweet, beautiful and talented, I was very excited to find out that she is also a greige reader.  Her designs range from furnishings, lighting, wall art and home accessories to jewelry.  Each piece was something unique, stylish and well designed.

This little table, the flirt side table, was my second favorite of the entire show.  I think I need one!

 My other must have item.  This pair of earrings!

Quick peek at Atlanta loves..

Just a quick peek at my weekend in review from my instagram pics of Atlanta.

I had a really great time and was very happy with my first trip to the show.  There were so many fun new vendors to discover and meet.  As I sift through my pile of emails and catch up on everything here at the office I promise to post more on the great displays and lines that were there.

Details in design

I have spent the last few days picking out, organizing and shopping for accessories for my installations in a few weeks.  As much as it seems like it should be all fun it is still a lot of work.  Packing is not my favorite thing!  But the details are what makes it all come together.

I love this space and the trunk used as a table.  I wish that was what I was working with but alas I am not there just yet.

Vintage inspiration

Friday finally!  This weekend promises to be busy and fun on Sunday I will be going to the Long Beach flea market to pick up some accessories for the jobs I will be installing at the beginning of May.  It is always so fun to add some vintage pieces into spaces.

I am also hoping to get around to adding some items to our Vintage section of the shop for you also.  Things are finally becoming more manageable around here so I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will get to share everything with you.

What about you what do you have planned for the weekend?  Something wonderful I hope!

details of design

Sometimes the details of design work can be all consuming.  I was talking with my assistant today about the way occasionally design work makes us have a type of forced creativity... it is a weird thing.  Once you have to create something on a deadline it kind of sucks the creative juice out of you for  just a little while.   Then you have to go out and find something to recharge that battery, something as simple as a walk can work but I much prefer some kind of travel.

Just inspiration..

Some things just catch your eye and make your mind wander to wonderful places.  I was wandering through my favorite blogs yesterday and came across something from Tine K Home and fell into their site... I love their product images... so dreamy! So greige...

Lately I have felt a little overwhelmed by all of the trends and what is going on in design.  These types of things reign me in and help me to remember what I love so much simple, rustic, mixes filled with beautiful texture.
