Vintage fabric pillows

I admit I have a thing for vintage fabrics... let's just call it a problem okay.  Just before I left these sweet little things were finished but I did not have a chance to share them with you.  I pulled them all out this weekend and love them all together.  The Ikat is new for me and I love the way they came out, so clean but so wonderfully modern mixed with the Batik fabrics.  I have put most of them in the shop because let's face it, I cannot have them all!   I have used mostly vintage fabric pillows in my home just because I want them to be unique, I think that is the best way for a home to be... mixed and matched with vintage and new.  What do you think?  Do you do vintage?

taking notes..

We all know I am a list maker, and I have a deep affection for paper products!  I have stacks of books and journals some full, some not so full but I fell in love with these little notebooks and had to have them.  I have started making notes for our trip to Paris in one that I keep with me at all times.  Things I want to buy when I am there and places I want to stop.  I am trying so hard to create a new list of must sees while I am visiting and shopping this time.  Do you have any suggestions?

I plan on taking this little book with me to sketch little things, gather cards in and to tuck mementos in between the pages so that on my next next visit I know what I want to do again or what to avoid (which is rarely the case).

Fossils {accessory trends}

While I was at the show in Atlanta I saw the most beautiful fossils everywhere and most were already sold.  Most of the showrooms used them in display or as the main accessories on their furnishings.  I fell in love!  I was very excited to pick up a few pieces this past week, which I am even more excited to share with you.

I am sorry this photo is not better, these pieces were amazing!

Each of the the architectural fragments had bits of stone attached to them.

Loved this too!

 I picked up Smokey Quartz and Amethyst pieces, these are for sale in our flea market section of the shop.

Stop by the shop to see what we have been adding, I will be putting more on in the coming days.

Lucite love...

I have completely fallen for Lucite.  I love the odd piece or two mixed in with traditional or transitional spaces.  It is just that little bit of fun that some spaces need.  I recently bought myself the lucite cube that we started selling and I love it, even if it is a bit different than my norm.  Do you have the lucite bug?

Vintage by Nina Book {giveaway}

I am very excited to offer this beautiful book to TWO of my lovely readers!

I am sure that you have visited her blog and have seen the images floating around the internet, how amazing would it be to own a copy of Vintage by Nina.  This book is printed currently in Norwegian and this fall we are expecting it in English, so you can read all about the lovely vintage treasures.
Each image captures her beautiful mix of texture and patina beautifully.

" This book is one that we are sure will transcend time and design styles, and in our opinion its sui generi; unique, fresh, bold at times and yet feminine, clean. The book contains 160 beautiful and provocative pages which inspire dreams in its readers and invokes the interior design muse of those who leaf through its pages."

Currently you can pre-order the book in English at the greige shop and if you are interested in purchasing the book for resale you can contact the Boys at Atelier de Campagne to get your supply!  Please email them at infoatelierdc@gmail.com  for more information.

To enter to win please visit the shop and leave a comment below letting us know your favorite. For an additional chance to win tweet about our giveaway (it's easy just hit the tweet button below)  or post about the giveaway on facebook and leave a second and/or third comment!  As always we would love to have you as a follower here on the blog too!  Our winner will be chosen at random Saturday the 16th.

Vintatge Finds and instagram...

So I have a question... do you instagram?  I do and I love love it!  I love the idea of being able to have a camera with me at all times and having the editing tools there too.  It is super fun and I am sure I post too many of the same pictures just from different angles.. this is how I use my regular camera too.  I take a lot of pictures and then I look for just the right one (usually they are really the same but I like to abuse my use of the camera memory).   I would love to know if you are on instagram and if you would like to have some new followers please let us all know your user name in the comments section...

I get a lot of emails and comments asking me to show some of my purchases from the flea markets.. I did take a couple of pics with my phone of some of my goodies!   (The first picture is of the gorgeous peonies that I picked up before dinner today- not from the flea market but had to share).  I found these beautiful pale green glass beads to mix in with my bone beads- love them... I also bought this great Union Jack - it is a little oversized and very thin.  Perfect for a window or to just drape around.

This is one of my favorite things!!!!  I am taking this in this morning to have it made into a pillow... so so loving this one.  Just underneath it is a beautiful English wedding document that will be getting framed and off to the side is a great croc bag (it is the real thing) that I picked up for a steal about a month ago.

Wishing you a wonderful late start to the week!
