Heavy texture

Oh how I wish I was spending a lazy morning somewhere like this today..
But it is off to meet a client to select tile and stone and then back to designing a few up coming projects to be presented next week.

Cement Walls

The texture of cement is so fantastic when it is natural or with a smooth finish and a small amount of nuetural color.  The color is truly an artistic endeavor.  I am using a custom made cement counter and molded sink in an upcoming project and I am so excited to see how they turn out. The finishes had the smallest differences and I really loved them all.

These walls are so amazing with the natural light in this picture.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!  Maybe this weekend I will have a little time to take some photos of my treasures from the last few weeks of shopping.

Layering greys

This house is a great transitional mix.  The layering of dark grey and light grey is so relaxing.

Just an idea...

So I am sure by now you have realized that I ended up using the sunburst mirror in the dining room. Well- I don't love it, let me rephrase that I don't love the way it looks on the wall. It is smaller than I had envisioned there. I love the mirror. But I have a new idea... (it just came to me really)... I think I am going to do a large grouping there of vintage French documents like maybe 12 or so... hummm..

I may even move out of my comfort zone and put some kind of gold in the framing as opposed to my typical black frame.  It looks so nice on the grey.  Don't you think?

I will have to move the mirror somewhere else though..

Oh and also I just put in some chairs like those shown in the first beautiful photo...

I know it's Christmas and I should be doing important things like wrapping and celebrating and so on, but I am really just dreaming.

Maybe it is all of the rain, I need the sun to survive, I am going a little crazy here!

Wrap it in grey

I am not a huge fan of wrapping... don't get me wrong - I love it I am just not that good at it. My paper is never quite as tight as I would like it to be... or straight!  I thought these were so pretty though.  This year I am wrapping in white, green and natural.  Do you theme your papers under the tree?  My tree is pretty neutral so I can change my wrapping each year.  {We just picked up our tree last night- so it is not decorated just yet- hopefully I will get around to taking a few pictures to share}.  Getting in the Christmas spirit over here...

Dark grey and so cozy...

The throws look so yummy! As everything starts to cool down I want to snuggle up and eat family dinners with wine and candles and wonderful conversation, followed up with a fire and more conversation about times past and things to come.

I heart grey

Thank you so much for all of your comments yesterday!  I LOVED them!  When I came across these pictures I almost fell off of my chair.  I so need to paint a room grey in this house!  I wonder if I can do it myself.  The walls are at leas 15 feet high so I am not so sure and then there is the buffet full of goodies to contend with.  Hum may just have to break down and hire someone to do it...

The heart is so whimsical and fantastic- don't you think?  I wish I could be that way but I am pretty picky!

1916 House remodel.. a little before and after

This is a project that I worked on last month with a great customer of mine. The house was built in 1916 in Fullerton and was purchased and remodeled to be put up for sale. It is a really cute house that had a very old remodel done to it. The house just needed a little paint and some updates to bring it back to life. This was a very fun project for me!

I hope you like it!

Family room before.  The floors were beautiful - we had them refinished and they look even better.

The dining room before - a little too red for me.

This is the kitchen- WOW- beneath the linoleum was original douglas fir which was also sanded and finished and looks great!

The cabinet layout was a little off because of the original stove size and position- this space needed to be reworked.

The main bathroom - the only shower!
With a bad 80's remodel....

The Back bathroom

Front bathroom- a little tight in here (3 inches for your legs that is enough right?)

Remodel time...

The new living room look's so clean and the floors look amazing!

The new kitchen - does this even look like the same room?

We refaced the cabinets and the contractor reworked the corner what a major difference.  Also, the floors look wonderful (who would hide this with  linoleum?)

The dining room with fresh coat of paint.

The main bathroom with a new layout that maximizes the space and all new flooring and wall tile.  I love this room now!

The back bathroom all cleaned up with new sink, paint and fixtures.

The front bath with the sink moved into the adjoining closet and the old bath made into just the toilet room.

I was so excited to see how this all turned out.  What do you think?  Better?

Paint colors used...

All of the paints are from Sherwin Williams
