New Sarah Atkinson Art

So you know I am a fan of Sarah Atkinson's pieces and these are no different. The Dresses are a continuation of her Evening Out series. Love the colors.

And the ladies are to die for!  See my previous post about her here.

A little back ground on the artist from Grand Image:
Born in High Point, North Carolina in 1980, Sarah Atkinson grew up in a rural farming community. Surrounded by the beauty of nature and secluded by land, she developed a love for painting at a very young age. Her father, also an artist, encouraged her to pursue her passion. She spent much of her childhood in his studio painting at his side. Sarah went on to study fine arts at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. Here she developed a deep interest in figural studies and began to cultivate her contextual style of painting.

After college, she met and married another painter, Patrick Atkinson and then relocated to Charlotte North Carolina. During this time, Sarah was able to spend time experimenting and refined her approach to painting through new mediums and unconventional materials. She and her husband now share a studio in Charlotte where they live with their 2 children.

Sarah's ability to capture a timeless and seductive movement in her paintings is offset against an organic, often abstract backdrop. Amidst a sea of tar and beeswax, the pieces, in their final state, stand as elegant, yet bittersweet works that express an emotion of their own. Sarah Atkinson’s works are held in private collections throughout the United States, as well as internationally.
