The Great Gatsby set design

I have been waiting and waiting for the current remake of The Great Gatsby to hit the screens and I am so excited that we will be seeing it soon.  I am excited to see all of the amazing sets and locations as I am sure they are going to be beautiful.   I was scouring the net for photos of the interiors and the buildings without much luck so I had to resort to the trailer.
They are beyond imagination and this is just a peek.

The round pool with JG in the center is perfection.

The color combinations are something I feel like we never see, when we watch the older black and white movies, it will be good to see what we have been missing.  Her clothing below is so chic.

Gatsby's closet and bedroom have a wonderful Art Deco feel to them in comparison to the other spaces which are a more traditional in his home.  I love the quilted walls and the metal railings.

The party scenes will have to be watched again and again.  Each will inspire this years holidays and weddings I am sure.

Not to mention the costumes and the cars.  I may have to see it on the big screen more than once to take it all in.

So are you excited to see this tragic love story come to the big screen?  I am waiting and will be there on opening day..

Emporium Home {Atlanta show favorites}

While I was in Atlanta I was very excited to see some great new lines, new to me and some new to all.  Emporium Home was one of my favorites.  That table is to.die.for.  I love love it.  The dark top with the beautiful metal base is just beautiful, this photo does not do it justice!  I was so excited to meet Ashley the company's owner and designer.  She was super sweet, beautiful and talented, I was very excited to find out that she is also a greige reader.  Her designs range from furnishings, lighting, wall art and home accessories to jewelry.  Each piece was something unique, stylish and well designed.

This little table, the flirt side table, was my second favorite of the entire show.  I think I need one!

My other must have item.  This pair of earrings!

New Traditional

I was browsing through my latest copy of Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles and saw these images..  I love the slight twist on traditional style that is in this space.  I love the settee in the entry it makes me weak in the knees!  Just that little splash of color is so perfect.  There is a fresh mix of old and new that looks like a real home and a real person living in it.

Shopping on La Cienega: Maison au Natural No. 819

Love the hanging baskets!

This reminds me of the shop he had at South Coast Plaza so long ago.

 Love the pup!

My love for the vintage framed flags never ends!

Design details are so important to a shop and to your home.
Little collections make everything seem so much more interesting.

Astier de Villatte and vintage subway signs- yes please!

I am totally loving those lights!

I recently had a chance to do a little shopping in LA.
I visited La Cienega for an event and had a little time to spare so I was able to stop by some of the fantastic shops.  Everyone was very sweet and welcoming and the displays and pieces were absolutely wonderful.  Each shop is unique and full of great inspiration.
As you know I am a big fan of Dan Marty and when I walked into his newest shop for the first time it was just as I had imagined, creative and full of the most wonderful things!

Visit the shop:
