Greige's favorite paint colors right now

Lately I have been asked often about my favorite neutral paint colors.. so I thought that I would put together a quick guide to the colors I use most often in my projects.  Each one is wonderful but has a slightly different feeling and undertone.

 Perfect Greige from Sherwin Williams

Popular Gray from Sherwin Williams

Rockport Gray from Benjamin Moore

Light French Gray from Sherwin Williams

Beach house greige

I adore the greige beach feeling in this space.  Relaxed and comfortable just waiting for sandy feet and warm afternoons.

Simple Peony boquet..

Spring is my favorite time of year by far!  I love most flowers but my heart is deeply in love with the Peony.  I picked up a simple bunch at the market a few days ago and since then they have become my muse.  So so amazing.  I am a terrible flower arranger so I love that I can simply cut them and pop them into any kind of container and they always look beautiful.

Wishing you a wonderful long weekend!

London Simply

When I saw this bedroom picture on pinterest I was in love.. upon investigation now I realize why.  I have posted bits and pieces of this beautiful home before.  The detail of the flooring transition in the hallway and the beautiful kitchen just a few weeks ago.  This is the London home of Rose Uniacke and David Heyman.  I love the simple clean feeling of everything with that touch of elegance that keeps it interesting, perfection.  I am not sure that there is a need to elaborate on my part it really speaks for itself!

San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2013: Catherine Kwong

This years San Francisco Decorator Showcase is a beautiful mix of old and new with an emphasis on a unique set of juxtaposed details thanks to Catherine Kwong and the other talented designers.   Catherine designed the Living area of this amazing home and I love this space just as much as I loved her own beautiful home!

Catherine Kwong designs a decadent
rock 'n roll hideaway for the 2013 San Francisco Decorator Showcase.
With custom furnishings and an emphasis on luxe materials, Catherine
Kwong brings her signature elegance and modern point of view to create
a grand living room.
“The design was inspired by Mick and Bianca Jagger in the 1970’s - the
young and wild, traipsing-to-Saint Tropez years,” said Catherine Kwong.
“I was doing research for a client and discovered all of these beautiful old
photos of Mick and Bianca that depicted a wild romance. They were
impossibly stylish and full of excitement, with a bit of scandal, of course.
So I designed this room for them; a place for late-night parties with rock
royalty and the jet-set. I wanted the room to be just like Mick and Bianca:
luxe and decadent, but with a rock 'n roll edge.”
The star of the room is the dramatic painted floor, which serves as a rich
canvas for the room’s artful mix of luxurious textures, details and lines.
Inspired by the iconic paintings of Cy Twombly, the floor was
hand-painted in exuberant brushstrokes by decorative painting firm,
Stancil Studios.

pool side... simply

I have spent my free time as of late obsessing about a few things.. but the biggest thing on my mind is the pool we are putting in.  I am waiting with baited breath for it to be complete so I can put out lounges and add plants and just basically sit next to it and stare at what has been a dream of ours for years.  I adore this pool- it is modern and clean and just simple..  Ours is not going to be quite so simple but I did keep it as simple as possible.  We will be having some outdoor rooms but not for a little while so I have to be prepared for a lot of open space.

If you would like to keep up on our progress you can check out my instagram and eventually I will get it all together enough to show you here on the blog...  I hope you are looking forward to a wonderful weekend!

Finished up...

When you work on a project for years it is so nice to finally have it wrap up.  It makes all the difference to see all of the decisions and hard work come together to make a space that you are really happy with.  Design is a collaboration between the designer, architect, builder, tradesmen and the client and when everyone is happy it is one of the best feelings you can have.  This is a little peek at a project that just finished up last month and we could not be happier with the results.  It feels so good to see it in use and working so well for everyone.

By Invitation Only: A great challenge

A challenge...  The girls from By invitation only have asked us to write about a challenge for this month's post.  Something to over come possibly something to accomplish.  I think this might be the perfect opportunity to speak up, to get it off my chest so to speak.  I have been writing this little blog for (omg) almost 4 years now and I have felt that it was challenging many times, sometimes a fun challenge but challenging never the less.  I think it may be time for a change, maybe a regroup so to speak.  It has been itching at me since the beginning of the year and I am just now accepting it I think.  I would like to make some changes around here... I know you have changed in the past 4 years and I know that I certainly have, hopefully in good ways!  So I want to add a few things and organize a few things and possibly omit a few things...  I ask you to be patient with me as I work through some changes here on the blog, in hopes of making it better and fuller.

Last year was an amazing year full of projects and wonderful growth for me.  I worked on and completed about 15 projects in a 12 month period, not including my residential clients and my personal projects.  Sometimes that can leave you feeling a little over cooked, if you know what I mean.  I want to make the blog a reflection of what really truly inspires me each and every day not just what I think you are going to want to see, in hopes that it will inspire you too.

If you would like to see what the other girls are up to check them out here!
