Simply wonderfully white...

I am completely falling for this light white clean feeling right now.  I have spent the last few days working with a lot of color... it can kinda scramble a design brain.  This space feels so relaxing and simply wonderful!

We are getting geared up for the holiday weekend here and cannot wait to spend 4 days hanging out around the pool and setting off fire works!  (shhh)

Pattern play: Ikat Floor tiles...

I have a little obsession with Ikat right now and when I saw these tiles my heart skipped a beat or two..
I think they would be perfect for a small powder bath or a commercial space.
Now I just need a customer who is down with them too!

dark beauty..

Feeling so inspired by the contrast in black details right now.  I think almost every space needs a contrast and why not use black to make it happen?  I find that I do the same with fashion.. a little black goes a long way!

Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday!

Dramatic dining..

I love the simple drama of this space.  The blank chalk board makes such a contrast from what we might normally see when they are used in decor.  The chairs and the chandelier are by far my favorite part of the otherwise simple space.

Little black and white dining..

I have been seeing these little chairs just about everywhere and I love love them.  I have used them in a few jobs but keep trying to figure out how I can have them at home..  maybe my office would be a good spot. Wishing you a very wonderful Holiday weekend- I hope you have wonderful plans!
We do our standard egg dying on Saturday and then dinner with family and friends on Sunday.

Black entry doors

I love the contrast of a black or espresso door.  We have a pink Wisteria planted to go over ours and I am so hoping that this is the year it grows across the front of the house.  These are a few of my favorites that I have collected and were great inspiration for me.  When we redid our kitchen this year I had the painters paint the interior of my doors black also just for a change in the space and I love it.

Are you a fan of the high contrast?

contrasts..

I find that contrast is so necessary in a space, it doesn't have to be as obvious as this, which I love, but it can be simple and textural as well.  This combination is beautiful and interesting, the antlers make it for me.

I hope your weekend is full of beautiful days- we are expecting another 80 degree day here in California before it cools again.  If you are visiting us from One Kings Lane- Welcome - we are happy you are here!

architectural love..

Well we all know I am a sucker for a well designed building.  This one is at the top of my list... let me see here used brick, black doors, white columns, ivy or wisteria growing up one side.  Pretty much perfect I think.  I cannot believe we are already on Thursday again.  How does time fly by so quickly?  Where is it all going and why?

I hope you are looking forward to a restful weekend (yep I pretty much consider it imminent at this point)!

Talk about take my breath away.  What a wonderful edition of Lonny this December!  I love just about everything in it.  The gift guides are fantastic and this space took my breath away.  I love the modern mix and the contrast in this home.

I hope you are having a wonderful mid week.
Check out the rest of this home in Copenhagen in Lonny.
