spring flowers

How I dream of warmer spring days filled with beautiful mornings, flowers and greenery.  I trust you have enjoyed your weekend my friends?

I love the feeling of this mixed up space, eclectic and still a possible working environment.  I think that the painting makes it for me and the flowers of course.  I am curious how many of you collect little things like this, I know I do although I try very hard to keep it to a very edited version.  I struggle with the old and the new pieces and typically the old pieces win out because they hold more memories even if they are not all my memories.  Do you pick up little things here and there or do you collect along a theme?

collecting... life

I adore collections and a little collection under glass is a wonderful thing.  I am hesitating on my holiday decor this year.  We have a trip planned and between that and the work I have to complete before the holiday is enough to keep me busy for 2 months really!  I have a cloche in my living room that I need to reset, change up with new little mementos from the year that is about to be complete.  It is a fun chore but still a chore that gets pushed to the side in this holiday craziness!
How about you are you holding out on the holiday madness or are you taking it all in with all of the magic all around you?  I promise when I do get to the decorations I will post some photos here for everyone to see again this year.  This is what we have done in years past.... 2010 and 2011

Euro Trash at home..

I don't know about you but I completely fell for this space in the latest issue of House Beautiful.  They mirrors in the stairway are so gorgeous! I wonder if this would work on a curved stairway?
I might be trying that out.  The entire color palette or lack of is really light and bright, I love it.
This is the home of Annie Brahler from Euro Trash.  I came across their site last week and put it together with some of my favorite images from around the web.

Funny note.. this is the second time I have seen a LV bag used in the photos of a house.  Love that- mostly because this is the bag I have been sweet on for a while...

Tote obsession...

This is a problem.. I am completely obsessed with totes and bags..  I was flipping through the new issue of Souvenir magazine and was clicking through on products that I liked, once I finished the magazine I realized that I had linked up to multiple websites, but each link was for a different bag.  So I guess I am obsessed just a little!!  I have bags everywhere in the house, I have woven bags holding my bath towels, picnic supplies, fabric samples- you name it!   I like woven, vintage, linen, pretty much anything that would carry goodies home from any kind of store or hold things at home, but I truly love to use them at the flea market and farmer's market- it feels great to come home without a single plastic bag wrapped around my goodies.

Do you love them like I do- have I lost my mind (don't answer that one)!?

Remember the details

Life is in the details... These vintage details are so sweet and telling about the collector.  That is the one thing about design that can be the hardest is to help clients add and arrange their own "details".  I love real details things that are collected and meaningful.  These are the things that truly make the home a special place, a place full of memories and special moments.

Just a little reminder to remember the details...

Collected in Grey and Gold

It is so nice to realize that I am not the only one who needs to collect things like vintage textiles, and cameras and all kinds of other little goodies that are unnecessary to everyday life..

What about you what do you collect?  Have I asked this question before?  I need to know- it helps me feel more normal!

collected life...

I am a collector, are you?  I don't collect any one thing really just things that speak to me.  It is a weird thing if you think about it, searching through new and old things trying to find the things that make me smile or just catch my eye based on their color, texture and quality or lack of quality.  I fell in LOVE with the first picture everything about it is just amazing- it is full of so many things that appeal to me I cannot even explain it.
What do you collect?  Are you a collector of all things like me or of specific pieces?
What is your obsession?

Collected and Natural..

This space has a wonderful collected natural feeling, it doesn't feel forced or planed.
Just relaxed and special.

Are you a collector?
What is your best find?
I have a few very special pieces but they all have a story..  they should always have a story.
Some of my favorites are artwork.
I purchased my first Eric Zener pieces when I started working
on my own as a designer for the first time.

They are very special to me because they are symbolic of  the adventure that I was starting and I love them to this day!

Stars, suns and arrows..

Oh the wonderful things that are found... I love found objects. I guess I am obsessing about the details this week.

I had a lovely time yesterday at Kravet in Laguna I got to meet some great bloggers and designers and hear what they think about social media.
It has been such a crazy week are you sure it isn't Friday yet?

Ashington house {part 1}

Sometimes a house comes around that I am in love with (well maybe a lot of the time).. this is one of those times...I love the soft colors and the simplicity of the pieces with the rough wood and the clean walls...
