Huniford Design

Huniford Design does the mix so well.  His ability to mix the clean lines of modern pieces with classic and vintage is amazing.  A style that is simple and sophisticated is refreshing in the design world of late.

I love the chairs in the first photo!

Simple Rustic charm

I love the eclectic style of these spaces, it looks like a home of pieces truly loved.  The case full of clothing is the best.

Mirror collages...

So I have been struggling with an idea for my dining room for over a year now I think... I just could not decide what it was that I wanted to do.  I have this weird window that makes the wall kind of hard to decorate.  I have debated over vintage doors, vintage mirrors, starburst mirrors all kinds of art and I just could not commit to any one thing.  So it finally has come to an end- I needed to fix it and then things just seem to fall into line.  It's always so nice when that happens.  I found this picture on Pinterest the other day and fell deeply in love!

I painted the walls in there Restoration Hardware Slate which I LOVE but the mirror I picked was just not doing it for me.  So I think I am going to give the vintage mirror/frame collage idea a go.  I originally had a reclaimed wood mirror collage.   So the clincher was when I received an email from a reader who owns a company that makes beautiful antiqued mirrors (which I have been searching for someone for a long time).  Leftbank Collection makes all types of antiqued mirrors which is perfection for this little project of mine as I can vary the style of the mirrors so they look collected over time and I can fit them to some vintage frames too.

I have always wanted to do this somewhere.. now I just have to find the right spot!

I love love the plain jane mirror here... so me!  I will definitely need to use one of these.

I am so excited!!!  I am going to see what I can find at the flea market over the next few months and fill in from there.

collected life...

I am a collector, are you?  I don't collect any one thing really just things that speak to me.  It is a weird thing if you think about it, searching through new and old things trying to find the things that make me smile or just catch my eye based on their color, texture and quality or lack of quality.  I fell in LOVE with the first picture everything about it is just amazing- it is full of so many things that appeal to me I cannot even explain it.
What do you collect?  Are you a collector of all things like me or of specific pieces?
What is your obsession?

Gorgeous transitional mix.. timeless

I am loving the mix in this house of rustic and traditional with a bit of vintage put in there!  So fun, it reminds me that we should design with what we love, to make a great mix of styles and to not be married to anything that would make the space anything but timeless.

There is so much going on this month I cannot wait until I have a moment to share some of my latest projects with you and all of the great things that are coming for this year!

Organized workspace..

I am completely in love with this office space that I spied in Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles this month!  The offices of Barbara Westbrook are in a bungalow, I love the way the space is clean but really comfortable at the same time.  It being the New Year and all I know we are all on the organization train.. I love the baskets!

Vintage Urns

I have this deep love for vintage urns, I was browsing through the new container images from the boys at Atelier de Campagne and I am loving all of these..  Pairs of them make my heart skip a beat!

Can you imagine them flanking a door or on the mantle?  Just so perfect to add that little bit of something with some great live plants added in.

French in black and white...

I am completely dreaming of visiting this amazing French Chateau - Château les Merles.  It looks so charming, I will have to see if I can work it into our trip to Europe next year.  I am already daydreaming of all the wonderful things that next year will hold for everyone.  I hope that it is a year of great things!

Can you imagine...  Have you started planning for next year (I know that I get a little ahead of myself sometimes)??

 Have a wonderful weekend!

this week I am loving..

It is funny there are some weeks when inspiration eludes me and then there are some where it is everywhere and I cannot keep it straight!  I am absolutely loving everything here!  I love vintage chairs and their time worn look, the lovely layers of grey from Atelier de Campagne, and Lauren at Pure Style Home's new textile line.
Do you ever find too much inspiration?  I like to take mine and store it away for a day when I am feeling a little out of sorts and use it to get me back on track!

Rose Bowl Flea Market...

So we hit the Rosebowl flea market on Sunday morning, it was a beautiful day thank goodness!  I have been really happy with this flea market so far, it is full of great vendors and fantastic pieces!  I completely fell in love with these giant vintage posters and art pieces.  Each piece is mounted on a larger canvas for easy framing and storage.  I so wanted the Louis Vuitton piece but is a little bold for me.  I would be happy to point you in the direction of this vendor if only he had had a card for me.  He is at the Rosebowl for every show unless it is raining on the isle against the fence near the entry.

Some amazing stadium lighting just in case you needed some!  The boat too- there are some really interesting pieces to be found here.

I always love the vintage trophies and coral such a fun combination!

This vendor used some of our Lanet fabric for upholstery.  So so cute I thought!

Irons and Duck so fantastic as always!

I was so excited to see Robert again.  It has been months since I have bought any of his vintage textiles.  I got some great pieces!!  I love them for upholstery and pillows.  There are some vintage pieces that I bought that I would love to reproduce (if anyone has any info on having your own fabric made I would love it).

Fred was there from Grenouille,  I picked up this vintage ledger from him!  I cannot wait to frame it up for the wall!

Of course there were some beautiful vintage clothing pieces, I just have not given into this idea yet.  My sister says I am crazy!

I did get this super cute little hat though.  Fun and great for a little shade on my nose!!

We were completely taken by the pieces in Mark from Create a Vision Antiques.  My sister bought one of his converted lights for her living room.  Which looked so very cool when we put it in!  I am wishing I had one too!

My Bags were so full and so heavy!  I was ready to head out before we even walked the entire show.

We did not find any dining chairs for my sister but we did get her a fantastic little curved back settee, I cannot wait to see it reupholstered and in her space.

I hope you are having a wonderful Monday so far!!
