I love cut flowers and grouping them in different size vases adds a great layered effect.  Wouldn't this be a great dressing table with all of the natural light and little places to store your goodies!

Some days a color just grabs you.  I was loving these little touches of the lightest of pinks..

We had a wonderful weekend here at home, just the necessary amount of relaxing and trying to catch up.  I am looking forward to getting some things taken care of this week and I promise to get to sharing some great new books I am loving as well as some of the great flea market finds from this weekend that I am super excited about.

I have spent the past few weeks dreaming about what Spring could bring and what I would like to see in our future garden.  I am meeting with our Landscape Architect late this week to see if we can plan out all of the fantastic things we want to do.  I adore the iron doors and windows in the first two images (the first one is Merci in Paris) I would love a pair where the window now is in my dining room, with Wisteria trailing above a seating area and a small fountain.  Hydrangea are my FAVORITE flower in the world and I need to have those in various locations so they are a must.  But the rest is pretty up in the air, we love fruit trees and have a few that were here when we arrived that we would like to keep.  There is to be a pool and hopefully a small pool house.  I cannot wait to get it all down on paper to see if it is even possible and then start tackling it piece by piece.  

What are your favorite garden elements- any recommendations?

I am feeling a lot better today.   Barely got that post off before the flu hit me..

So much to do... so little time..  I will be searching for inspiration for a bunch of new projects that I am starting for the first part of the year today.  Please forgive me if I am slow to answer emails and get back to messages...  I working on catching up too....

Are you hosting a Christmas dinner?  I am having family over for Christmas eve.. I have been thinking of a different way to set the table..  candles and white and linen is what I am thinking.

With only a few days until Christmas I am ready to finish up getting ready and get down to enjoying.  I think that the rush of shipping packages and orders is almost finished up... now time to do a little baking with the kids and wrap up all of the Christmas joy!

I trust you had a good weekend and a well celebrated Father's day.

We had a simi impromptu dinner here last night and I would say that it went fairly smoothly.  I think that we should entertain more often.  I am not sure that this space would put me at ease though!

It is very beautiful but the thought of all of that white scares me a little!

What about you do you entertain?  Do you enjoy it?

I simply love everything about this space- it has Hydrangea, my favorite flower, ivy growing on the walls, yes please, and privacy, um we need some!

It just seems so clean and inviting.  

I ran out of time to work in the garden this weekend... maybe another day.

Sometimes I find that when I take a minute to see things in a different light  I can really find 

inspiration..

We visited some really beautiful gardens while we were in France and I must say that I have a whole new idea of how I want to transform what I have..

So far my garden has basically remained untouched for the past 3 years, simply because I was not sure what exactly we should do with it.  Now I am inspired and hopefully will take some action!

These gardens have been cared for deeply maybe that is what I need a loving hand to make it work.
