La Caze

So we all know how the blog community has opened our eyes to so many wonderful things that we could never have imagined.  I feel so very lucky to have greige connect me in so many ways to a great community of design minded people.  I was so excited when Angela and Renee contacted me while they were in California and I was even more excited to get a chance to meet with them and do my first official interview about greige and My Sparrow.  They are so super sweet and their accents are so fun!!!

Angela and Renee have created an amazing line of lighting and lanterns that I am loving named La Caze.   They make custom pieces in addition to their standard running line which is fantastic.  Here is a little about the girls and the place that they call home....

When living in South Louisiana, you can find inspiration around every corner. The diversity and history of Louisiana architecture, expansive gardens and timeless elements incorporated into interior design continually inspire us. We met at the ball field when our kids were playing T-ball and were so pleasantly surprised that there was indeed someone else as crazy as we were about interiors, architecture and gardens. From that point on, endless hours were spent in creative endeavors. As a creative outlet, we began designing, building and remodeling every chance we got. As time went on, we became business partners in LaCaze and co-founders of the blog. You never know what wonderful surprises are around the next corner in life. Come along the journey with us as we share our love of interior design and architecture. We hope you enjoy and are inspired, as we take a take a stroll under the Spanish moss.

It is just so wonderful to see where friendships can take us!

Check out my interview with them on their lovely blog Under Spanish Moss.

Courtney Cox at home with grey

I was totally in love with these pictures of Courtney Cox's new home.  The layers of grey are so wonderful and calming.  The modern mix is just perfect.

It reminds me of this house!

Suzanne Rheinstein's book At Home

Hollyhock

A few weeks back I had the pleasure of attending a talk at the LDC with Suzanne Rheinstein.
It was great to hear her speak about her new line of fabrics with Lee Jofa and her book At Home: A style for today with things from the past.  She is so sweet and friendly.  Her attention to detail in her style and design is amazing.  Suzanne discussed how her travels and life influence her design and the different fabrics that she put together with Lee Jofa.  The book is full of the most beautiful photos of her designs and her homes- love it!

It is always so nice to meet people in person - I highly suggest if given the chance that you go out and meet and attend as many of these great events that the design centers across the country host.  It is perfect way to personalize their design and see what inspires them in their work, which in turn will inspire you!

For more about Suzanne check here and here you can also grab a copy of her beautiful book on the right!

It is possible that I am a little obsessed with Darryl Carter... but I saw this short video and I thought that you might enjoy another peek at his amazing house and hearing what he has to say about color and design.

Also, in a side note you can grab a copy of his book from Amazon on the side bar on the left...

Darryl Carter - The New Traditional home - Keeping it simple and interesting

I cannot tell you how long I have been looking for these pictures... I pulled them out of the Elle Decor I had and somehow misplaced them.  I was so happy to run across them on their site.. Now I can share how much I simply adore them with you.

Each image just seems so relaxed and planned but unplanned.  Darryl Carter's talent makes me have faith in great design.  The bedroom and bath in the first two pictures are my absolute favorite..
