Rustic beauty...

The simplicity of the furnishings let the rustic texture of the wall really direct the feeling of this room.  I adore the hand made chandelier, wanted this one bad for myself!

I hope you are making plans for this coming weekend!  We are on the countdown for school to end so we can spend our days poolside and playing.. but for now our weekends are full of working on the yard and landscape here.

Preppy Grey..

This is such a fun twist on the dark grey, it is well used in this office space and it is nice to see something a little different.  That desk doesn't hurt either.  I love that they used the rug for texture and I think it makes it just casual enough.

Shop design {industrial mix}

I am completely in love with this shop!  I have a thing for a mix of home goods and fashion though.  I think that they go hand in hand and that typically those who love to decorate love to dress in a similar fashion.  Don't you think?

This space is fantastic, one of those shops I could spend too much money in and come home feeling very inspired!  I love the way the bright colors of the clothing play off of the relaxed darker furnishings.

Design Library: the natural home by hans blomquist

I was looking through some books over the weekend and realized that I needed to share one with you!  I picked up The Natural Home in a shop here locally one day and fell in love.  Of course the imagery is beautiful but it was the variety that really pulled me in.  There is a little something for most every taste and the mix of vintage is fantastic.   My favorite space that they explore and talk about is from Oliver Gustav.  His shop and is amazing.

Many of the images from this book have made their rounds on the web but I love to have a book to browse through at my leisure, I have more than enough according to my husband, but you can never under estimate the power of really turning those pages and the way your mind can wander.

Dark and Moody

Sometimes you just have to be dark and moody!  I think this is an amazing space and the design is fantastic...love the dark tone and tone.

What do you think?  Do you like it?

Dark in the kitchen

This kitchen is so beautiful.  What do you think of the dark finish?  I tend to lean towards a light or white kitchen more often than not.  I love the stools too!

What do you think are you a light or a dark kitchen fan?

the art of layering

Layering in design is a true art form. It is mastered by a great stylist but in reality can we really live that way?  Is there a spot for my water glass or my collection of work papers?
How about you have you mastered the art of layering?  Does your home look like a shop?

On good days parts of mine do, but let's face it I live here and life is very busy!

Dark and detailed, I am completely in love..

From the very first picture I was in love.  The color scheme is dark and moody and I love it!  It feels so very fall.  I have been leaning towards lighter design lately but I know my true love when I see it and this is some of my favorite color inspiration.  Not to mention the mix of industrial and vintage - so amazing!

Wishing you a wonderful Saturday!
