so, 2010 starts a whole new chapter in our lives. as you know, we have officially moved...but what you may not know is that we have moved to a new town. we now live in beaufort, sc (kind of a mini charleston about 60 miles away)....and we are going to add a new addition to our family in june....a little boy (which has been another reason i have slacked in blogging...thank goodness the first trimester is over)! we are super excited about starting this new chapter and hope y'all will be around to watch it all unfold....have a wonder new years and i'll see you in 2010 :)
xoxo pink wallpaper
*i promise to be back to my old blogging ways next week and if anyone is interested in design services in beaufort or nearby, please email me!

so our weekend could not have been anymore fun! taylor is always timid at the beginning of trying new things but by the time she had been to a house or two, she started liking the idea of getting candy. she would say "one piece for me and i need one more for my daddy". what a sweet girl- good thing she likes to share ;) hope your halloween was equally as fun!
The Designer's Attic...

i'd like to introduce you to my newest venture....the designer's attic. it's a new blog i have created out of necessity. i live in a town jam-packed with goodies and it is impossible for me not buy an item when i spot a steal. my poor attic is busting at the seams with treasures i have held onto in hopes of eventually having a home for them. now, these little guys are ready to have a new home with you...
so what's in store at the designer's attic? items like thomas o'brein sconces, cole and son, osborne and little, victoria hagan fabric, sea cloth, and some vintage finds thrown in the mix. i will be updating regularly with my latest treasures so keep checking if you don't spot something that interests you right away!! and don't worry, pink wallpaper will definitely not suffer in the process! the only change will be that the feature fabric will now be on the designer's attic!
on another note, i just want to say a huge thank you to all of my readers. i am so blown away with the support, comments, and friendships that have developed from pink wallpaper...y'all are just the BEST! i never knew that all of this could happen from starting a little blog :)
what's hiding in your garage....

now the chest does have one catch, it was taken from a kiawah house where she was used as a vanity....so it has a hole in the top. i can't decide if i want to turn her back into a chest for my entryway; i could have a wooden top made or i could get a piece of marble cut for it. the other option would be to keep her as a vanity and used it in the 'next house' (wherever that maybe)...i would put a marble top on and maybe paint her a french blue....
so now i ask you...what treasures are lurking in your garage??
where i have been for the last two + days....

unfortunately i don't have a ton of time to do a post this AM b/c i am trying to get ready for a meeting. but i thought i would share w/ you one of the spec homes i am working on. it's on sullivan's island (hopefully i can win the lottery and retire here one day). i think the house has so much charm...i love the arched windows that the builder selected. yesterday i met w/ the cabinet peps and we created a super coastal kitchen. i think it is going to look great. when things start taking shape, i'll share more....right now i have got to get the exterior paint selections ready. have a wonderful weekend!!
can i get a light...

my own work...

the main area was all one room w/ tall ceilings and i love the exposed old charleston brick wall w/ the earthquake beams running through it. we renovated the kitchen (you can see part of it on the right of the pic); it was really a dark room with black cabinets and stainless steel counter tops. we repainted the cabinets, added the frosted glass, replaced counter tops w/ granite, added the mosaic tile around the bar surround, and did all new appliances (the refrigerator was just divine, a sub zero with the glass front). the floors were brick (not old, but were new brick) and my client felt like it was always dirty so we replaced it with travertine.
my client was a young, business woman who had amazing style so deciding on the furniture was a fun task. she was always very polished and so it was nice to see that the furniture reflected her image. she wasn't afraid to be adventurous so the powder room was wonderful. we used the metallic cole and son's woods wallpaper in the small space. it was a great project that i was super sad to see end.

there is something about a collection of ripped out magazine pages, fabric, wallpaper, etc. that totally excites me. my cork board...i have two and its where i display things i love and want.....there is a method behind this madness...
- Lulu DK- a master in fabric design...a young, hip girl who has awesome, geometric prints like the navy and blue color wheel fabric or the chant reverse chocolate brown fabric...they would make killer pillows
- modern lines of a simple sofa- would look stunning in the kelly green dot fabric by Hable
- Ben Moore paint- one of my favorite kinds of paint; Antiguan Sky 2040-60 is a dynamite color that was in this store in Beaufort and it looks amazing paired with black and white accents
- card- this was the card i received from my husband when i took the step to go out on my own...a must to have around...
- blue and green room- i ripped this out of a mag a while ago and i think it sums up the things i love....the paint colors and application, the zia-priven custom light, the bold zebra print on the floor...i think this room is awesome
- Holly Hunt Glass Stool- come on...this just screams cool
- Greek Key trim- a great trim to add to a window treatment, sofa, pillows...love the simplicity of the greek key
- Cole and Son Wallpaper- retro classic....these papers are just fabulous
- Anthropologie sofa- i love the new furniture line that Anthropologie has...they are so current with the design trends...and bold, which i love
- picture of my BFF's- there is nothing like going home to see your bestfriends
