mellow yellow

Sometimes all you need is a little touch of color to make you smile..  What are your plans for the weekend?  I am going to try and get into my copy of The Great Gatsby this weekend, of course it is not vintage and covered in yellow but I am sure that the story is still just as good!
 Enjoy your Friday my friends!

a little something...

It is funny how the time passes without notice some days...  Today is my son's 10th birthday- what an amazing gift to share his sweet heart and mind it has been.  I so look forward to the amazing person he is becoming with each day so tonight we will celebrate with him once again (we like to call them birthday weeks around here) tonight at dinner with family.

Wishing you a wonderful day filled with beautiful images and memories!

An absolute dream inside and out...  I love the patina of the interior and exterior of the door.  The green makes it all come to life!

A big thank you to Leaf Magazine for publishing one of my photographs of the roses at Versailles in their most recent issue! I am very honored!

Also, look for a great giveaway here tomorrow!

blush blush

Some days a color just grabs you.  I was loving these little touches of the lightest of pinks..

We had a wonderful weekend here at home, just the necessary amount of relaxing and trying to catch up.  I am looking forward to getting some things taken care of this week and I promise to get to sharing some great new books I am loving as well as some of the great flea market finds from this weekend that I am super excited about.

Happy Monday and welcome April!

Grey Modern

When I saw these I was smitten, the clean lines and cool colors are so soothing!  I love the sliding interior doors in that hallway too.  Wishing you a wonderful Sunday.  I am off to the flea market to see what's been going on without me for the last month or so.  Next week is another busy week so I have to rest up.

Holiday entry..

I love this door with the boxwoods!  So simple and sweet!  Even though it is not officially December yet the Holidays are upon us!  I am excited to get into the full swing of things around here and see if I can catch that holiday spirit.

What do you do to prepare for the holidays?  I would love some tips on how you keep it all going!
Thank you all for your sweet birthday wishes!

Vintage Guilded mirror..

I cannot believe it is Wednesday already!  Another week disappearing right before my eyes...
The bathroom remodel is well underway and I am getting excited!  Tile comes in at the end of the week and will be installed next week.  I remember when I started all of this I wanted to have a gorgeous gilded mirror like this for over the sinks.  Alas, it will not be that way but I have a few fun things up my sleeve to make it just so.

making an entrance

I love that even the smallest of spaces can be made into an entry, just a little place to greet guests and show a little peek into what is beyond in your home.  The perfect little spot to drop your keys or keep your purse.

Style in the entry

Another week is upon us and I am not sure I feel like I am accomplishing much around here.
I am complete in awe of the this beautiful entryway and the mirror, it is so very lovely and unique, the things that make a house a home.

There is a lot going on around here and I am wondering something.. as I start to do some long awaited work on our home, if you are interested in seeing the changes taking place?  I have not really explored that here on the blog as it has been a lot of inspiration and work ideas.  I am just curious if you, my lovely reader, are interested in this type of addition.

Also, this week look for a little giveaway here and some other fun things!

Wishing you a lovely Monday to start off the week.

Grey in the entryway...

How yummy is all of that moulding and the bike is very sweet too!!

Sometimes I wish that I lived in a big city so that I could ride my bike around and then store it in my beautifully detailed entryway.. but then I come back to reality and I live here...

Abstract inspiration

Some days you cannot place your finger on what exactly you love about a photo or a space but it is inspiring.  Some photos just make me think that life is full of so many layers and ideas that it is hard to separate them into any type of design thought.  Does that make any sense?  Often when I look at a photo of a space I can see the elements separately that make it up, but there are other times that I just cannot pinpoint what it is that makes me love it- I just do...

These two images are like that for me...

Also, last chance to enter our giveaway!

Shopping on La Cienega: Kristen Buckingham

The Entry door was my favorite inside and out.

Loved the pocket doors in black also- just a nice little surprise.

On my last visit to La Cienega I had the pleasure of visiting  the Kristen Buckingham showroom.  It was full of eye candy!  The exterior paint was my favorite and reminded me of being in Paris where each shop seems to have it's very own style.

Inside was like a treasure chest of mixed styles and colors!
